WAFL Collectables

These windcheaters were made for kids and were designed to mirror the design of each club's playing jumper, with a popular player superimposed over the top. They also featured the club's "w-style" logo, which was used by all clubs from 1976-1981. The neck tag features the name "Rosanna Fashions", which was a clothing manufacturer based in Hope St, in Brunswick (Melbourne). The production date has been narrowed to the period 1978-1980 by cross-referencing the careers of the players who are known to appear on the windcheaters.

Produced during the WAFL's mass marketing heyday, these windcheaters made use of the new cartoon-style logos. These were released at the end of 1981, at the same time as the regular shield-style logos, and were designed to appeal to kids.
